Project Overview
This project is a five-year project, starting in April 2024 and running until March 2029, and it aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, specifically methane, from paddy fields by implementing a water management system in Cambodia's West Tonle Sap Lake region. The collaboration involves Japanese and Cambodian institutions, with primary contributions from the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) and the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC).
Output 1: Establishing a Water Management System for Methane Emission Reduction
Output 2: Developing Methane Emission Estimation Methods
Output 3: Establishing a Framework for Sustainable Methane Reduction
Carbon Credits Initiative: Initiated a survey to identify target farmers and shared the basic concept of carbon credit project formation with stakeholders.
