Background

The Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) in Phnom Penh has its own Central Library, which plays an important role in supporting teaching, learning, and research for students and staff.

  • Purpose:
    The library provides academic resources in agriculture, veterinary medicine, rural development, environmental studies, economics, and related fields.

  • Collections:

    • Books and textbooks (in Khmer, English, and French)

    • Agricultural research journals and reports

    • Theses and dissertations of RUA students

    • Reference materials and government publications

    • Some electronic and digital resources

  • Services:

    • Reading rooms for students and staff

    • Borrowing and lending services

    • Reference and research assistance

    • Access to online databases (in cooperation with partner institutions and donors)

  • Support & Development:
    The RUA Library has received support from international organizations and projects (such as JICA, FAO, and NGOs) to modernize its collections and facilities.

  • Role in Education:
    The library is considered a knowledge hub for agriculture and rural development in Cambodia, helping students, lecturers, and researchers access up-to-date academic resources.
