Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture (FoFA) of the Royal University of Agriculture, currently employs 11 permanent staff members (including 3 female) and 8 contract staff members (including 4 female). Dr. NGOR Peng Bun is an aquatic ecologist and the dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture at the Royal University of Agriculture. He holds a PhD in Agronomical and Ecological Sciences, specializing in Ecology, Biodiversity, and Evolution from the University of Toulouse, France. His research and publications focus on aquatic community ecology and ecological modeling, with significant contributions to understanding the impacts of hydrological changes on fish assemblages in the Mekong River Basin. His work has been widely published, highlighting critical issues such as the effects of dam development on fish biodiversity and the sustainability of fisheries in the region. His efforts are vital in promoting sustainable management practices for the Mekong's aquatic resources, ensuring food security and biodiversity conservation for future generations. In addition to his research activities, he has led the development and improvement of bachelor's and master's programs in fisheries and aquaculture to align with outcome-based education.

Dr. CHHOM Vichar is a lecturer and the Deputy Head of the Department of Fisheries Product Technology at the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Cambodia. Mr. UY Sophorn is a PhD candidate in Applied Ecology and Management and holds a Master’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Mr. PIN Kakada is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Royal University of Agriculture (RUA). He holds a Master’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Ecology and Management at RUPP. His doctoral research focuses on fish functional diversity and assemblages change in the Lower Mekong system, providing insights into long-term shifts in fish traits in response to environmental drivers. Mr. Kakada has several years of experience working as a project assistant with the Wonders of the Mekong project for raising awareness about sustainable ecosystems to the local community in Cambodia’s Mekong region. He is currently a project coordinator for an innovative monitoring system to support conservation action for threatened fish species project supported by IUCN - Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund. He is also actively involved in the development and implementation of a research project on mass production of high-quality red tilapia fingerlings to support the aquaculture industry in Cambodia, funded by the Second Higher Education Improvement Project (HEIP 2). In addition, he is an ornamental fish farm supervisor of the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture, contributing to practical training and research in ornamental aquaculture.

Ms. CHHORN Soksan is a contract staff for the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Cambodia. As of 2022, she was a graduate of the Royal University of Phnom Penh with a master's degree in Biodiversity for Conservation. She is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Science of Agriculture with a focus on Natural Resource Management (NRM) at RUA. In the context of her Ph.D. research, she is interested in monitoring, managing, and conserving fish migrations in the Lower Mekong Basin. The research she has conducted has provided her with both theoretical and practical experience in the areas of natural resource management, water quality, and ecological modelling related to freshwater aquatic animals. In addition to building her Ph.D. profile, she has also been actively involved in some conservation efforts working to protect the Mekong River in Cambodia. This has led her to earn awards from U.S. Research Funds such as Wonders of the Mekong (WoM), Fulbright program, and NextGen program to promote her finding in the regional and international arenas.

Ms. SUP Mecta is a staff and lecturer for the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture at the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Cambodia. In 2022, she completed her Master of Science in Biodiversity Conservation at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). She is actively involved in updating the undergraduate fisheries curriculum, especially modernization of Bachelor of Science in Fisheries’ curriculum following Outcome Based Education (OBE) of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Furthermore, she is doing research, which focus on freshwater fisheries in Cambodia, particularly the Tonle Sap Lake. One of her research project was on the temporal variability in the fish diversity and assemblage structure in one of the world’s most productive tropical floodplain lake. Her research interests relate to freshwater fish ecology and conservation, water quality that links to biodiversity and human livelihood.
